The Wheelbarrow by J.John
There was a workman and after a day’s work while leaving the factory, he was pushing a wheelbarrow out of the factory. Inside the wheelbarrow, there was a very small package. He was stopped by a security guard. The security guard asked him, “What have you got in your wheelbarrow? He said, “Well, I have got a small box!” The security guard said, ” I can see it’s a small box but what have you got in it? The workman mentioned, “You know the sawdust on the floor at the end of a working day is swept up and thrown away. I needed some, so I put it in a box and I am going to take it home”. The security guard ordered, “0pen your box”. He opened the box and it was sawdust. The security guard let him go.The same thing repeated for quite some days. On the fifth day, while he was pushing out his wheelbarrow, inside the wheelbarrow was a small box again . It was the same security guard. The guard said, “It’s you again! What have you got in your wheelbarrow? The workman answered, “Well! I have the same as I had the other four days – sawdust”. The security guard asked to open it and it was sawdust again. The security guard inquisitively said, “I have got this feeling that you’re stealing something. Why don’t you tell me what you are stealing and I promise I won’t report you”. To this the workman said, “Alright then. I am stealing wheelbarrows.”
In life, You and I are so preoccupied with a small package that we miss the big picture. Most of the time, it is the grain of sand that is in our shoes that weighs us down and we lose focus and lose the bigger picture!
